Habitat of Bedford County is seeking a Site Coordinator for the upcoming home build at 111 Auction Drive, Bedford.

This is a part-time position for someone with a preferably with a construction background, a flexible schedule and good organizational skill. The position requires being available during the two work days a week and other days as needed. Responsibilities include working with volunteers and helping to plan and manage the home build. HABITAT BUILDS WHEEL CHAIR RAMP FOR BOY WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

Kaeden Johnson, age 13 was born with severe heart problems that required many surgeries including open heart, cranial and brain surgery. Kaeden is mostly deaf and also had surgery to place tubes in his ears. Kaeden, who is also autistic, enjoys playing on his iPad and watching TV.   He lives with his 12 year old brother Jesse and his mother Angela Paugh.

Habitat for Humanity of Bedford County helps Boy with Heart Defect Gets His Playground Paradise

Weston Jeffries wasn’t expected to live. He was born with a combination of several heart problems causing a large defect in the center of his heart. He underwent open heart and stomach surgeries well before his first birthday. Weston also has Down Syndrome. Playing outside, climbing, and going down slides are the joys that brighten his world, and he can now go to his happy place right in his own backyard. Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, made his dream come true by purchasing a massive Gorilla wooden play structure utilizing a grant from the Lavale Walmart
